What is a Naturopathic Physician (ND)?

ND stands for “Naturopathic Doctor,” but we like our reputation as “Nice Doctors.”

In the state of Washington, ND’s, or naturopathic doctors, are primary care physicians. Like MD’s, DO’s, ARNP’s (Nurse Practitioners), and PA-C’s (Physician Assistants), ND’s are licensed to diagnose and treat disease.

In addition to standard-of-care medical training, the physicians of Nova Sinus Center are specialists in Complimentary and Alternative Medicine (CAM). This means we use the most advanced, effective, natural treatments first and sinus related drug therapy when indicated. When might this be required? Drug therapy is indicated when a client’s illness is advanced and not responding to Sinus Ninja treatments and lifestyle changes alone. In cases of advanced (but not emergent) sinus disease, the physicians of Nova Sinus Center will treat according to the principles and standards of family practice. Should Sinus Ninja treatments, lifestyle changes, and drug therapy not reverse the the progression of chronic sinusitis, or if there are obvious signs of emergent disease, we will offer an immediate referral for surgical consult.

Are pharmacy items and CT scans ordered by the physicians of Nova Sinus Center covered by insurance?

While consults and Sinus Ninja treatments are fee-for-service, any pharmacist-dispensed medication or imaging ordered would be covered by the limits of your plan. Note that ND’s are not participating medicare providers in Washington state.
